Sweatshop founding director, Dr Michael Mohammed Ahmad, has won the 2022 Queensland Literary Award for Fiction for his third novel, The Other Half of You. The judges described Mohammed's book as tender, confident and unique:

"Bani Adam’s growth through adulthood is crafted with a balance of tenderness and confidence that is uniquely Ahmad’s own. Navigating inherited expectations and guilt, exploring relationships within and beyond Arab-Australian communities, and crossing the lines of faith and family, The Other Half of You is infused with a brand of honesty, conviction, and spirit that is rarely found elsewhere."
