AFFIRM PRESS MENTORSHIPS

Sweatshop has joined forces with one of Australia’s fastest-growing publishers, Affirm Press, to run a mentorship which will enable diverse writers to develop their debut novels. The recipients of the inaugural Affirm Press Mentorship for Sweatshop Writers included Vietnamese-Australian writer, Shirley Le, author of Funny Ethnics; and Palestinian-Australian writer, Sara Saleh, author of Songs for the Dead and the Living

 

The second round of recipients included Egyptian-Australian writer, Daniel Nour; and African-American writer, Tyree Barnette; both of whom are currently developing their debut works of fiction as a result of the program.
